# Flight Mode API

Flight modes allow you to fully control the behaviour of the drone. While your flight mode is active, you actively control the setpoints that the controllers in the Flight Management Unit (FMU) consume, so you have full freedom over the dynamics of the vehicle.

There are different levels of APIs to control your vehicle. See the list below to decide which is right for you.
