# Legacy app workflow

present prior to AuterionOS 2.7. You are using the legacy app development workflow, if you downloaded the "[Auterion Developer Tools](https://docs.auterion.com/hardware-integration/auterion-developer-tools/auterion-developer-tools-installation)" to set up your workflow.

Auterion generally advises the use of up-to-date AuterionOS releases.
