# Strike UI

In Auterion Mission Control (AMC), the Strike UI is the set of on-screen controls in Fly View that lets an operator initiate and monitor target tracking, and execute a strike or terminal guidance action.

## Before you start

#### Prerequisites

* Strike-capable platform (multicopter or fixed-wing).
* MC Follow (multicopter) or Visual Fixed Wing Landing (fixed-wing) installed.
* Camera and tracking service app (separate AuterionOS app) installed. Required for tracking support.

{% hint style="info" %}
MC Follow, Visual Fixed Wing Landing, and the tracking service app are preinstalled on all compatible platforms.
{% endhint %}

## Using Strike UI

### Tracking a target

<figure><img src="/files/CyLwLoCpwo6bTq24l0sT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Select the **Track button** on the right side of the screen.
2. The **Track** button blinks green. Tap or click the target area on the camera feed to designate a track point. \
   *To cancel, select **Track** again.*
3. The camera feed zooms in to the designated target area and the PiP overlay appears with a zoomed in view of the target area.\
   *To cancel, select **Track** again.*
4. Use the arrow controls on the PiP to refine the tracked region.

{% hint style="info" %}
Arrow keys on a keyboard can also be used to adjust the tracked region on the PiP. See [Tracker control](https://docs.auterion.com/vehicle-operation/auterion-mission-control/pages/zajYKQKt4egZYWAokb0F#id-3.-tracker-control-for-auterion-enabled-systems) for configuration instructions.
{% endhint %}

### Striking the target

<figure><img src="/files/QyDr3Cx9cNqbhW8SOue9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

5. Once tracking is active, the **Strike** button blinks yellow.
6. Select **Strike** to execute the strike. The button changes to <mark style="color:$danger;">**STRIKING**</mark> and the platform begins engaging the target.

### Aborting a strike

* When a strike is in progress select the **Strike** button again to abort.
* Abort behavior depends on platform type:
  * **Multicopter:** Maintains current heading for 2 km, readjusts altitude, then hovers in position.
  * **Fixed-wing:** Maintains current heading for 2 km, readjusts altitude, then enters an orbit.
